For a million smiles....

Living for a purpose, standing up for a cause, showing solidarity to some one in need.. yes it is happening around!! While minting money with their entrepreneurial flare they are transforming the lives of millions around and are being the reasons for a million smiles. It is much heartening to see the young India taking to 'Social Entrepreneurship' fostering the evidence for the existence of the much talked about 'Inclusive Capitalism'. Capitalism and Inclusiveness.. an odd match indeed :)

Got lost in two excellent books. One by arguably the greatest Management thinker of modern times,C.K.Prahlad. 'The Fortune At The Bottom Of The Pyramid' and another by Rashmi Bansal - 'I have a dream. C.K.Prahlad had  been the inspiration behind the 'Go Rural' strategy of many corporations. He speaks volumes on sustainable business models which can be modeled in Rural India with innovations in both product and process coupled with a scale-able  business model.

Rashmi Bansal's 'I have a dream' revolves around some paradigm trends in social entrepreneurship beginning with Sulabh International, the iconic sanitation programme founded by Padmabushan Bindheshwar Pathak.
These ventures while avoiding the frantic run behind profits  provide a platform for those millions of underprivileged to come up to the main stream and lead a dignified life.

Hats off to them..  Lets hope still many among us will take the role of  volunteers of nation building in due course of becoming promising entrepreneurs. Tats all for now...

Why don't you learn to butter Professor?!!

Heard this question from a veteran academician who was passionately trying to sell his 'Smart work and Network' thesis to me!
What do we want to be successful in career? Some say quality.. Others Loyalty.. But isn't Loyalty an obligation of a hopeless employee? Butter your boss.. Much imperative to enjoy a peaceful work environment. It is much disheartening to see nepotism  ruling the roost in academics, much prominent than ever before. It encourages mediocre mindset and has cancerous effect across the system resulting in quality loss everywhere. Networking overpowers hard work and sincerity putting students at the receiving end.

Predicaments of a toddling academican

Those curious eyes anchored at me reminds me of the magnitude of responsibility bestowed upon me. Their lives have been battered upon mercilessly by mediocrity and seldom do they realize that. They have been convincingly covered up by a thick blanket of falsehood and barely do they bother to come out of it. Blame it on their demographics, or the congenital 'Can I do?' attitude it comes as the responsibility of a teacher to cushion their fall if not push them to the heights. After all they too have fallen prey to the rusted, flawed and focus less academics system which is brutally bureaucratic and insanely obsessed with norms and regulations forgoing quality and intellect everywhere.
